IARC SUMMER SCHOOL 2025
You have reached the application form of the IARC Summer School 2025 and you will be invited to select the module you wish to apply for, either:
Module "Introduction to Cancer Epidemiology" (also referred to as Epidemiology Module)
Part 1: Online – 12 May-6 June 2025 (approx. 20 hours over 4 weeks including four live sessions of 1 to 1,5 hours)
Part 2: Face-to-face, IARC, Lyon – 23-27 June 2025
or
Module "Implementing Cancer Prevention and Early Detection" * (also referred to as Prevention Module)
Part 1: Online – 26 May-6 June 2025 (approx. 17 hours over 2 weeks including five live sessions of approx. 2 hours)
Part 2: Face-to-face, IARC, Lyon – 16-20 June 2025
*IMPORTANT - Before submitting your application for the Prevention Module, you must complete the self-paced learning path "Introduction to Cancer Prevention and Early Detection", freely accessible on the IARC Learning portal, after the creation of your account. The certificate of completion must be submitted in this online application form. It is a prerequisite, your application cannot be considered without this certificate.
INSTRUCTIONS
Please complete electronically in English. Answer each question. All relevant information should be included on this form (see the list of fields to be completed).
IMPORTANT - Please discuss with your supervisor/director/employer about your intention to apply. There can only be one participant per institution. If two or more applicants from the same institution are selected, we will seek your employer's final decision on whom should participate.
Please note that you will be asked to attach a letter of support from your supervisor/director. Please download the document providing a detailed guidance on the letter of support content and format expected: Letter of support guidance.
If you are eligible for an IARC Scholarship (LIC, LMIC and UMIC candidates as per institution/affiliation country - please check the Work Bank Classification), you will be invited to apply for it in this application form. Your request for an IARC Scholarship will need to be justified in the letter of support by your supervisor. This letter should be on an official letterhead of your institute, duly dated, completed and signed by your supervisor and bearing the official stamp of your institute.
Applications will not be considered if the letter of support is not up to standard.
Deadline for receipt of applications : 6 January 2025 (12:00 midday CET). Results will be communicated from mid-February 2025.
You can start to complete the application form and come back to it later:
1. once you have answered the first set of questions, click to the "next" button (bottom of the page)
2. click on "save and continue survey later" at the top of the page; this will save your current answers
3. enter a valid email address
4. the system will send you a link to retrieve your application.
5. when you come back, the system brings you to the page you were on when you clicked on "save and continue survey later".
Data protection: The data you are submitting in this online application form is collected by IARC via Alchemer - please click on Alchemer privacy policy for more information. As creator of the survey, the International Agency for Research on Cancer will keep your data and solely process them:
- to serve the selection process of participants to the IARC Summer School 2025.
- for the administration of the logistics of the training course for selected participants.
- to provide a permanent record of attendance at this event.
