Thank you for participating in our
fifth annual Pumpkins on Parade community carved pumpkin contest! All skills levels and all ages are welcome. The contest will be organized into three age groups (youth, teen, and adult) with fun prizes for the first place winners across the following categories: Best Garden-Themed Pumpkin, Funniest, and Most Original.
Pumpkins will be displayed during our entire Pumpkins on Parade event, October 17 to October 20, 2024.
Basic Ground Rules:
- You will need to purchase and carve your own pumpkin.
- Do not cut off the top - instead, please carve a hole in the bottom and scoop from there. (We will be placing them on top of lights)
- To keep your pumpkin look great all weekend, please try to carve as close to the drop-off time as you can. Preservation tips we’ve found work well include spraying surfaces inside and out with a bleach or castile soap solution, and then after drying, coating inside surfaces with a light layer of petroleum jelly.
- One pumpkin per person can be entered into the contest.
- You will need to drop off your fully carved pumpkins on Thursday, October 17 between 8:30 a.m. - noon.
- Judging will occur on Thursday night but pumpkins will be displayed through Sunday. You do not have to be present to win.
- We cannot return pumpkins or accessories. After the event, pumpkins will be composted and any decorative items will be disposed of. Please do not use anything to decorate your pumpkin that you would want back.
- Contestants are eligible to receive a 50 percent discount on their event ticket!
- Read our Contest Frequently Asked Questions document for more details about the discount and contest rules.
