Global Heumann Fellowship Application

Introduction
The Global Heumann Fellowship (GHF) seeks disabled, visionary leaders with a demonstrated history in advocacy, policy, communications, and influential collaboration for the 2025-2026 cohort. Fellows must have the ability to be effective while working remotely and maintain flexibility working with a diverse, global team. Before starting this application, please make sure you have read all of the information regarding the GHF and the World Institute on Disability (WID). All applicants need to complete and submit the following application. Native/bilingual English proficiency is not required for Fellowship eligibility. However, all questions are written in English and all submitted answers should be provided in English. We highly recommend that you prepare your research concept and review the writing prompts before starting the online application. After submitting your application, you should receive an email confirmation that your application has been successfully received. A copy of your submitted application will be attached to the confirmation email as well.

Timeline
Applications must be submitted by 23:59 Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, February 28, 2025.
  • The application period will be open from January 1 through February 28, 2025.
  • The review period, including interviews, will happen through May 30, 2025.
  • WID will notify all applicants about whether or not they have been accepted into the Fellowship Program by Monday, June 2, 2025.
  • The Fellowship Year will begin on July 1, 2025.
Note: 
  • Do not submit more than one application. WID will only consider one application per person, and all application materials need to be submitted using this online form.
  • Any application materials that are emailed will not be considered.
Saving your work: You can save your work on the application and come back later to finish it. To do this, locate and click the "Save and continue later" drop-down option on the upper right-hand side of the screen, next to on the application title. You will then be asked to input your email address twice and choose the "save" button. To return to your saved work, you must use the link sent to your email address from "Alchemer." If you need to save your work multiple times, we recommend saving each time and using the most updated link. Any application "drafts" will be lost once the application closes.
