Terms to understand for this survey: 

Women in midlife: Typically refers to those in the age range spanning 40 to 60 years old. 

Perimenopause: The transitional phase leading up to menopause, which is characterized by a natural decline in reproductive hormones, resulting in irregular menstrual cycles and other associated menopausal symptoms. It includes the time leading up to and the first year after a woman’s last menstrual period.

Menopause: The phase in life that marks the end of a woman’s menstrual cycles and reproductive years. It is defined as occurring 12 months after the last menstrual period.

Postmenopause: The life stage that begins after menopause.
