Tech2Empower, and initiative of WAKE: Women's Alliance for Knowledge Exchange, supports change-makers by getting technology expertise to women leaders in the nonprofit sector, social entrepreneurs, and at schools focused on girls' education and leadership. We do this by connecting them with teams of volunteer Advisors from top companies such as Accenture, Apple, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Salesforce as well as smaller companies. Advisors collaborate with local partners through impact project work, coaching, and tech training.
WAKE Advisors for Tech2Empower will have the opportunity to:
- Work in teams to coach and co-create (systems, strategies, plans, digital collateral) with local women-led organization leaders.
- Provide mentorship and lead workshops on careers, leadership, and tech for local young women.
- Build meaningful connections with like-minded women working locally and internationally.
- Learn about local history, visit landmarks, and participate in cultural enrichment activities.
- Learn new technology, training, communications, and leadership skills from fellow Advisors and local participants.
Pricing and expected commitment
The cost to participate in Tech2Empower ranges between $5,300 - $5,900. This contribution supports and covers:
7 nights hotel stay in program location.
Group transportation and meals.
Pre-departure volunteer preparation, materials and orientation.
Work with local partners.
Community and school events.
Site visits, volunteer work + meetings.
Support and preparation for volunteer roles.
Local translation services.
Historical and cultural events and sightseeing.*Does not include: flights, airport transfers, visa costs, alcohol and personal incidentals.
*A portion of this cost is a tax-deductible donation to WAKE to support our support. Overview: T2E Cambodia will be in partnership with WAKE's longtime partner, Harpswell (T2E Cambodia 2016, T2E Malaysia 2024), an organization in Phnom Penh with a mission to advance young women leaders in Southeast Asia through education, training and a supportive network. During T2E Cambodia, Advisors will support Cambodian women leaders and entrepreneurs from Harpswell's network and lead workshops for students currently residing in Harpswell's college dormitories.

Overview: WAKE continues to stand with the people of Ukraine, who are still facing the terrible impacts of war. T2E for Ukraine will continue our work supporting Ukrainian women refugees rebuilding their lives in Lithuania. This program will continue our partnership with Ukreate Hub, an inspiring organization dedicated to displaced Ukrainians in Lithuania and participant in our T2E for Ukraine 2023 program. Advisors will provide support for local orgs working with the Ukrainian community, as well as host workshops and trainings for Ukreate's network of women.

Cost: $5,500 (with employee matching programs, this is $3,500 from the Advisor with a $2,000 match)
Overview: Kigali is a hub of technology and innovation, and WAKE is excited to continue our longtime support of Rwandan women leaders in Kigali by returning for our 3rd T2E Rwanda program (2019 and 2022). During T2E Rwanda we will engage with inspiring local women-led social impact organizations driving meaningful change in their community. Advisors will also host workshops on tech and leadership for girls in local Rwandan schools.

Tech2Empower is an initiative of WAKE, a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco. We partner with local organizations for all of our initiatives. We are committed to making Tech2Empower a rich, rewarding, inclusive, and meaningful experience for Advisors and local participants. The WAKE team will provide assistance with all aspects of the Tech2Empower trip.
