City of Fort Collins Building Industry Scholarship Application

Applicant Information

Purpose of Scholarship:
This scholarship is to further educate and expand local industry workforce with a focus on energy efficiency, high performance buildings, and zero energy or zero carbon buildings and homes. It is also to encourage entry into the building industry workforce for individuals with an interest in building energy efficiency, building electrification and decarbonization technology, and sustainable construction.

Available Funds:
Individuals can apply for up to $2,000. Businesses and organizations can get up to $5,000 annually. Funding will be available until funds are exhausted within a calendar year. Notification of funding availability will be posted at www.fcgov.com/buildingscholarship.

Follow Up:
Applicants will be notified of scholarship award upon final review by the application team. Please apply for scholarship a minimum of two weeks in advance of course / training.


Decision Factors:
The following criteria will be reviewed to determine scholarship awards:

 

  • Business or Individual (see available funds above)
  • Intent to work in Building Industry and when 
  • Demonstrated commitment to implementing energy efficient methods and products
  • Intent to work in Fort Collins
  • Applicability of training course and completion date
Please note: since there are limited funds and we expect many applications, we expect scholarship rejections to occur even if you align with decision factors.
