Screening Survey (Step 1/6)

Thank you for your interest in the We The Village CRAFT Counselor Training Study. The screening survey will take under 5 minutes to complete, is completely confidential, and you will not be asked for your name or contact information.

Please note that we use 'counselor' to refer to a person qualified to work in a counselor-related role conducting client sessions. This includes roles like social worker, therapist, psychologist, peer advocate, recovery coach, master's student in active practicum, and so on, and implies that you have adequate training and any supervision required by your professional status (licensure, certification program, or professional degree).

We are conducting a research study to learn more about different online approaches to training counselors in CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) - a leading empirically supported intervention for helping family and concerned significant others (CSOs) of people using opioids or other substances in a problematic way (or have a substance use disorder). CRAFT's goals are to change the CSO's communication with their loved one, improve their self-care, and help them get the loved one engaged in treatment.

The purpose of the study is to test different components of an online counselor training program in CRAFT. The study will examine which combination of training components:
  • Are acceptable, satisfactory, and useful to counselors,
  • Improve counselor knowledge and skill in implementing CRAFT, and
  • Result in greater treatment entry and retention for the CSO's loved one.
We encourage you to start the screening survey when you have time to complete it in one sitting. If you exit the survey before you finish answering all the questions, your answers will not be saved, and you will need to start over.
