Leadership Network on Culturally & Linguistically Sustaining Practices
The Leadership Network on Culturally & Linguistically Sustaining Practices is a professional development opportunity and learning space for school leaders to understand the necessity for culturally and linguistically sustaining practices in their schools and foster an inclusive community that builds on teachers, students, and family assets. Through this six-session network, leaders will deepen their individual and collective capacity to demonstrate culturally and linguistically sustaining practices, thus leading their school to improved outcomes for all students.

Program Dates
October 2024 - June 2025 

Tentative Session Topics
The program of study  will highlight key components of a culturally and linguistically sustaining learning environment and feature key DESE resources that advance and deepen leadership effectiveness, including:
  • Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Practices Overview 
  • Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Practices and High-Quality Instructional Materials 
  • Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Instruction and Deeper Learning (featuring essential resources from CIS and CSDP)
  • Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Practices – Cultivating and Ensuring Inclusive School Environments (featuring the Guidebook for Inclusive Practices and related resources)
  • Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Family and Community Engagement (featuring Strengthening Partnerships: A Framework for Prenatal through Young Adulthood Family Engagement in Massachusetts )
  • Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Hiring and Retention Practices (featuring Promising Recruitment, Selection, and Retention Strategies for a Diverse Massachusetts Teacher Workforce Guidebook)
