Crossref intends to consult with the wider scholarly communications community about ways to ensure accessibility and tackle barriers to entry for all organisations, who may wish to join them and register and steward metadata for the scholarly and professional outputs they publish – be that articles, books, preprints, reports or other works. Crossref is currently reviewing its future resourcing, with a view to ensure equitability, clarify and simplify its fees, and rebalance different sources of revenue.
