Responding to October 7th
Nine Months In
We are turning to you and other Jewish educators, clergy and engagement professionals around the world to ask how the post-October 7th reality is affecting your work. This brief 10-minute survey is confidential.
The survey is designed to enable you and others to share your experience and contribute to our common search for clarity amid the chaos. In the spirit of areivut (mutual care, compassion and support), everyone’s answers will be available (without attribution), so that you can see how others are making sense of this moment. At the end of the survey, you will be forwarded to a live report of the answers to this survey. You can also opt-in to receive the formal analysis we will produce once the survey is closed.
This survey is our second one. The first was answered by 1500 Jewish educators and others in the first two months following October 7th. Download the report here.
We are now checking in to see where the field is at this point in time. Since October 7, the war between Israel and Hamas has produced a wide variety of reactions including powerful displays of Jewish solidarity, alongside divisions within the Jewish community and increasing incidents of antisemitism and general sense of unease. How are you and your learners or constituents affected? How are you responding to the situation?
There are no right or wrong answers to this survey. We recognize some are affected more than others, all experiences are really important to share. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this survey, please write to me at dklein@thejewisheducationproject.org or Dr. Ezra Kopelowitz, who is our partner for this survey, at ezra@researchsuccess.com .
With gratitude,
