Thank you for your interest in joining the NCCEP Communications Advisory Committee. We’re looking for a diverse group of GEAR UP professionals to volunteer their expertise for professional development, community engagement, and advising NCCEP around communications and advocacy initiatives.
Committee Member Requirements
Applicants should be NCCEP members and have experience with both GEAR UP and communications / advocacy.
Committee Meetings
The committee meets monthly via Zoom, on the
second Wednesday at 2 pm ET for 60 minutes.
Committee Member Responsibilities
Committee members should expect to contribute 1 – 2 hours per month over a 2-year term, from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2026.
1. Serve as experts and leaders for professional development.
- Lead or support session(s) at the virtual National GEAR UP Academy.
- Lead or support session(s) or meetings at the in-person Annual Conference.
- Support other professional development opportunities as needed, e.g., webinars, Learning Labs, etc.
- Co-create and/or update topic-related resources as needed, e.g., toolkits, Study Lab courses, etc.
2. Engage the GEAR UP community.
- Identify relevant topics and host Discussion Labs.
- Lead or contribute to discussions and resources on the Quad.
- Amplify NCCEP communications and messaging.
- Encourage community engagement in other ways such as supporting National GEAR UP Week.
3. Advise NCCEP on programs and initiatives.
- Identify short and long-term needs of community.
- Inform strategic planning.
