2024 Minnesota School Behavioral Health Conference Poster Session

WHEN: November 6-8, 2024
WHERE: Cragun’s Conference Center, Brainerd, MN
Proposal deadline: Friday, August 16, 2024.

The Minnesota School Behavioral Health Conference is in its 7th year, bringing together collaborating partners and providers to build a school behavioral health framework of community, practice, and support. Attendees include schools, community mental health providers, advocates, consumers, policy makers, Tribal Nations, parents/caregivers, county and state government. The conference provides opportunities to network and learn about the latest developments and best practices related to supporting students with behavioral health needs, their families, and the broader school community.

Purpose of the poster session: to encourage information exchange about programs, research or other projects supported by the Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Department of Human Services, Local Educational Agencies, school behavioral health providers, and other organizations supporting our students, teachers, and families.
Poster tables will be arranged as an exhibit area in the Centre at Cragun's Resort on Wednesday, November 6th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. allowing attendees to browse or stop and seek further information from you.

Eligibility: State agencies, institutions of higher education, schools, behavioral health providers, and other agencies providing support to students and schools.  Professionals are encouraged to submit descriptions of their service/project or abstracts for work they have either completed or are in process of completing. We are striving to have a wide variety of schools and projects represented. Joint displays across disciplines and organizations are also encouraged.

Poster session Descriptor & Guidelines to keep in mind: A poster session is a graphic presentation of your experience and reports. You/your organization may illustrate your findings or project activities by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams and a small amount of text on the poster and/or use technology to show examples of work.
  • Each 'poster' should be no more than 4 feet taller than the table. (You will have a 6-foot-long table).
  • Materials should include the title of the presentation and list of participants. Letters in the title should be at least 1 inch high. Bring all illustrations needed - figures, charts/tables, color photographs, etc.
  • The material should be well labeled and legible from a distance of two yards. If you are posting typed material, use a large font size (20 to 24 fonts)
You or your team should be available to converse with the conference attendees who are circulating among the poster displays. Representatives of the project should remain by their poster board for the duration of the poster session.  If handouts are to be distributed, please keep them to a minimum. Be sure to highlight the district affiliation, names and contact information in case the viewer is interested in contacting you for more information.
