QEP Topic Selection

The following topics have been identified by the QEP Committee for consideration.

Topic Descriptions

Digital Literacy -- Broadly, Digital Literacy is an individual's ability to find, evaluate, and communicate information using typing or digital media platforms. It is a combination of both technical and cognitive abilities in using information and communication technologies to create, evaluate, and share information. Wikipedia

Information Literacy -- the ability to find, evaluate, organize, use, and communicate information in all its various formats, most notably in situations requiring decision making, problem solving, or the acquisition of knowledge.

AI -- (Generative Artificial Intelligence) A type of artificial intelligence technology that can produce various types of content, including text, imagery, audio and synthetic data. Questions arise on how to leverage it to enhance student learning.

Basic Computer Skills -- Basic or supplemental instruction (review) on using a computer or other device and software to help students be more confident and productive, especially in online instructional formats.

KES -- KCTCS Essential Standards. A set of specific standards for Blackboard instruction, with the intent of helping instructors improve the quality of their online courses. 

Post-COVID Digital Classroom Skills -- Related to digital literacy, this hones in on the lingering effects COVID had on students and how we teach now.

Career Development -- Looks specifically at the role that ever-changing technology plays in the job market and how that impacts how our students learn and what they should be learning.
