DC127 Volunteer Interest Survey

Tell us about how you see yourself serving with DC127

As an organization rooted in our Christian faith, DC127 is looking for followers of Christ who want to live out the James 1:27 call to care for the widows and orphans. DC127 Volunteers will be vetted, trained, and required to provide church leadership references before working with a family.

The vision at DC127 is to see the Church fully committed to and engaged in caring for children and families in Washington, DC. who are at-risk of being separated or whose lives have been impacted by the foster care system.

We believe the volunteer roles will allow interested volunteers to serve in an area they are best gifted. We also encourage you if a longer commitment like 6 months is daunting, to consider ways you could support a volunteer team at your church through items like meal trains and supply needs (i.e. clothing, diapers, etc).

By filling out the volunteer interest form below, you can notify DC127 on how you hope to serve—meals, childcare, supply organizing, or joining a team to stabilize a family.

This can either be a weekend outing, where the volunteer is intentionally engaged with the youth for a full day, or one overnight. The purpose of these outings and hostings is to empower the child/ren with new experiences and provide relief for the parents to have a day to themselves to take care of other responsibilities or to get some rest.

3. Team Coordinator- focused on supporting the team.

As a team coordinator, you are coordinating supplies, prayer, encouragement, and filling in as the team needs. Examples may include meals, babysitting, rides, etc. Your role serves as the main point of contact to DC127 and your church’s advocate.
