Libraries in national information integrity strategies

Welcome!

In parallel with our set of regional webinars looking at information integrity in different parts of the world, we also want to understand how far libraries are already part of relevant national (or regional) strategies and plans.

This survey aims to gather information that can not only help us to understand the current situation, but also - we hope - identify good practices and examples that can help others.

The hypothesis that we are looking to test is that it is possible for libraries to have a systemic role in addressing questions around information integrity (understood both as the fight against misinformation, disinformation and hate speech, and more positive efforts to build informed societies and a healthy information environment). In other words, in addition to the great individual work done within individual institutions or networks, libraries have a place in national and regional strategies and policies.

This survey will ask you to share the name of your country. To note, if you want to answer for more than one entity (for example a federal government and a state or province), please fill in the survey more than once.

You have the possibility to include your name and e-mail also, both so that we can share results with you, and ask any further questions. However, you are not obliged to, and the survey is otherwise anonymous. We will treat any personal data you share in line with IFLA's Data Protection Policy.

We would welcome your answers by 12 April 2024, after which we will prepare a report that can be used in advocacy to underline how libraries can be engaged in relevant strategies, plans and initiatives.
