Faith In Elections Playbook Grant Application

If you are ready and able to serve our democracy in its hour of need, we are ready to partner with you. The Faith in Elections Playbook can help your faith community, organization or association find its own way to support and protect the 2024 election. Designed with tools to help you address polarization, build cohesion in your community, share trustworthy information about voting processes and support, recruit poll workers and establish new polling places, you can find a way to meet the needs of your community.

Interfaith America and Protect Democracy are pleased to offer two different grant opportunities:

$1,000 capacity-building microgrants: These grants are available to individual nonprofit organizations, houses of worship, college campus organizations, or other organizations who would benefit from a modest infusion of funds to provide a stipend to an organizer, pay for materials, or cover costs for one or more events.

Organizations who receive these funds will commit to doing two (2) of the following:

  • Recruit at least ten (10) people to sign up as poll workers.

  • Find one (1) new polling location in their county.

  • Recruit five (5) poll chaplains.

  • Implement trustworthy information initiatives (see Playbook for examples).

  • Host one (1) meeting between local election officials and community leaders.

  • Host at least three (3) bridge-building activities.

The application process will include a brief project description with your chosen two of the above deliverables and a proposed budget.

$15,000 network grants: These grants are available to denominations or networks with individual congregations, organizations with chapters or networks, or individual civic groups that partner with others to maximize impact.

These entities must commit to doing three (3) of the following:

  • Recruit fifty (50) people to sign up as poll workers.

  • Find one (1) new polling location throughout their network.

  • Recruit ten (10) poll chaplains.

  • Implement trustworthy information initiatives (see Playbook for examples).

  • Host five (5) meetings between local election officials and leaders from the organization’s network.

  • Host ten (10) bridge-building conversations.

The application process will include a project description with your chosen three of the aforementioned deliverables, statement of support from organizational leadership and a proposed budget.
