Thank you for your interest in the American Psychiatric Association Foundation (APAF)'s Future Leaders in Psychiatry Program (FLIPP). This one year program, beginning in October, offers current U.S. citizen undergraduates at accredited U.S. academic institutions an introduction into the exciting field of psychiatry. We do this through providing MCAT preparation materials, career development opportunities, educational sessions, mentorship, and networking opportunities at the APA's Annual Meeting.
Our two goals are to decrease barriers of access in applying to medical school for under-represented minorities (URMs) and to increase the amount of URMs interested in creating social change through a career in psychiatry.
