Call for Abstract Submissions!

The 3rd Annual Pathogen Genomics Symposium, hosted by the Robert J. Havey, MD Institute for Global Health’s Center for Pathogen Genomics and Microbial Evolution, will include two days of scholarly events, including a pathogen genomics workshop, research talks, flash talks, keynote address, poster session, and reception.

DAY ONE (Microbial Genomics Workshop):

DAY TWO (Research Talks, Flash Talks, Keynote Address, Poster Session, Reception):

Wednesday, April 24th, 2024
Time: 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.
Where: Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Center, 303 E. Superior St, Chicago, IL 60611

Internal and external students, faculty, community members and partners from all disciplines are welcome to participate in some or all of the events and apply to present on projects relevant to pathogen genomics and microbial evolution.

The deadline to submit poster abstracts is Wednesday, March 27th, 2024 by 5:00p.m. CST. Abstracts should be no more than 500 words.

Presenters, or a representative, must be available to present their poster in-person during the Pathogen Genomics Symposium poster session on Wednesday, April 24th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Potocsnak Family Atrium. All accepted applicants will receive more details about the presentation format, presenter expectations, and poster guidelines in the coming weeks.

Flash Talks: 4 - 5 submitted abstracts will be selected for presentation as a 5-minute Flash Talk between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Potocsnak Family Atrium. Please indicate on your abstract submission form if you would NOT like to be considered for a Flash Talk. Submitters will be notified by early April if their abstract was selected for a Flash Talk.
