Thank you for your interest in the American Psychiatric Association Foundation (APAF)'s Rising Psychiatry Scholars Program (RPSR). This one year program, beginning in October, offers current undergraduates at an accredited U.S. community colleges and two-year Tribal Colleges an introduction into the exciting field of psychiatry. We do this through providing MCAT preparation materials, career development opportunities, educational sessions, mentorship, and networking opportunities at the APA's Annual Meeting.
Our two goals are to decrease barriers of access in applying to medical school for under-represented minorities (URMs) and to increase the amount of URMs interested in creating social change through a career in psychiatry.
