SSP Mentor and Sponsor Application

Student Sponsor Partners' (SSP) uniquely integrated program provides students from underserved communities a quality, private high school education, a caring sponsor who provides financial support for tuition, and a supportive adult who offers one-on-one mentoring. Since 1986, SSP has helped thousands of students reach their highest potential and graduate from high school college-ready. This application is for those applying to become an SSP Mentor AND Sponsor.

All volunteer mentors must complete our mentor application at sspnyc.imentor.org and a background check
You will be onboarded by SSP and introduced to your mentee virtually, and will communicate via our iMentor platform (mobile app) and are encouraged to meet with your mentee 4-6 times per year for 4 years and to keep in touch monthly via phone or email (SSP hosts 3 - 4 events per year to help with this!)

This is an application to Mentor AND Sponsor a student. If you prefer to be either a Mentor OR Sponsor, please complete the individual applications for those roles. Once you submit, you will be redirected to our mentor application.

Full sponsorship of a student's tuition costs $5,000 per year for 4 years, totaling a commitment of $20,000. I would like to commit to sponsor this number of students to cover the full cost of their tuition. *This question is required.
