Faculty members at our
Principal Sponsoring Universities (PSUs) and
Principal Sponsoring Institutions (PSIs) are invited to nominate a mathematical scientist for a
Fields Research Fellowship for the purpose of full-time collaborative research. Fields research fellows can be based at the Fields Institute or, if the collaborators are outside of the Greater Toronto Area, at a Principal Sponsoring University.
Fellowship holders are entitled to an allowance for living expenses up to $4,000 for each month of full-time residence, and if they are based at Fields, office space and access to all Fields facilities and activities. The minimum length of residence is one (1) month and the maximum length is three (3) months. Note that faculty living in the GTA are not eligible to hold the fellowship, but may nominate external candidates for the award.
All application/nomination materials should be submitted at least three (3) months prior to the proposed start date. Annual deadlines are January 15, May 15, and September 15.
Selection of successful candidates will be made by the Directors of the Institute, in consultation with the Scientific Advisory Panel.
There are no restrictions on the nationality of the candidates. In accordance with our mandate, the Fields Institute encourages applications/nominations from women and under-represented groups.
