2024 NAAE #TeachAg Ambassador Program Overview, Expectations and Application Process

Position Description:
NAAE is seeking the nation’s most outstanding agricultural education majors to represent the profession as NAAE National #TeachAg Ambassadors at the 2024 National FFA Convention & Expo, October 21-25, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN, and throughout the year.


Ambassadors will be responsible for the logistical operations of the NAAE #TeachAg booth during FFA Convention; including booth set up and teardown, staffing the interactive activities, general booth maintenance and other #TeachAg related activities that occur during the week of National FFA Convention. After National FFA Convention, ambassadors will be responsible for hosting #TeachAg workshops throughout their states to promote the mission and goals of NAAE. In addition, ambassadors will also be required to communicate via social media and html emails about the National #TeachAg Campaign and their term as ambassadors to individuals interested in pursuing a career in teaching agriculture.

Selection for ambassadorship is a competitive process, and being selected means we believe you are one of the nation’s best and brightest future agriculture teachers. Final selections may include a phone interview, Zoom interview, etc.

NAAE will coordinate travel, accommodations and meals on behalf of the selected ambassadors. 

Ambassadors are required to be in Indianapolis by 5pm on Monday, October 21 for orientation and training. Ambassadors must also be available the rest of the week for booth set-up, booth coverage and must stay through booth teardown and loading on Friday, October 25. There may be additional engagement opportunities during the week as well. Selected ambassadors must attend a mandatory orientation on Sunday, August 25 at 6pm EDT. To be considered for the program you must be able to attend the orientation on August 20 and be available Oct. 30-Nov. 3. 


Additional ambassador opportunities may be available if increased funding for the program is secured.
Required Attendance:
    • Introductory Orientation 
    • On-site orientation and engagement activities
    • Booth set-up
    • Booth teardown and loading
    • State and Local #TeachAg Workshops and/or presentations (minimum of 2-maximum of 4) 
    • Teach Ag Day video testimonial (August 2025) 
    • Quarterly email contact with campaign member cohort group (coordinated by NAAE) 
Timeline:
April 15 #TeachAg Ambassador Applications go live
July 1 #TeachAg Ambassador Applications due (through the online form) 
July 2-July 31 #TeachAg Ambassador Interviews and Selection
August 1 Official #TeachAg Ambassador Selection Announcement 
August 25 #TeachAg Ambassador Orientation at 6:00 pm EST (5:00 pm CST, 4:00 pm MST, and 3:00 pm PST)
Oct 21 Travel to Indianapolis / training kick-off 
Oct 21-Oct 25 #TeachAg Ambassador training and #TeachAg booth staffing
