This spring we will be listening to and discussing episodes of the "
Lecture Breakers" with
Barbi Honeycutt. Participants will listen to podcast episodes and then meet to discuss. Club members can participate in as many or few sessions as your schedule allows. The meeting schedule will be
February 8th, March 14th, and April 11th at 1 PM in Jones 3049. We can accommodate virtual participants if your schedule does not allow in-person attendance.
"Lecture Breakers," with Barbi Honeycutt, describes itself as "the place where educators share innovative teaching strategies to help you break up your lecture, energize your classroom, increase student engagement, and improve learning." Nearly 150 free episodes highlight specific techniques and strategies; recent examples include creative use of audio, using infographics, enhancing critical thinking, engaging virtual environments, and active learning in asynchronous courses. Our podcast group will select episodes of interest and meet a few times during the semester to discuss them.
