CANS Latent Class Analysis Distribution Request Form

Thank you for your interest in requesting the CANS Latent Class Analysis (LCA) distribution for your county. The LCA can be described as a series of groupings or classes of youth with specific needs and strengths. California’s LCA is informed by the CANS of all foster youth who have their CANS entered into CARES-Live in California. The University of Kentucky’s Center for Innovation in Population Health (IPH) conducted the LCA at the request of CDSS to better understand and guide policy for foster youth in California.
County specific LCA distributions will display the number of children in each specific latent class. These distributions can support your department in understanding your specific counties distribution of youth’s needs and strengths and supports data informed continuous quality improvement efforts.
Regarding the presentation of the LCA distributions, counties can request one of the following:
1.Written presentation of the LCA distributions sent via email
