3. Preparedness: I understand that this trip requires good aerobic conditioning, balance, and the skills and gear to hike appropriately and with confidence for up to 15 miles per day and elevation gains of up to1866’ for up to 6 days in a row. I certify that I will be prepared with the experience, skills, conditioning, and gear to meet the requirements of the trip.

4. Route: I understand that the route will involve some variable terrain.

5. Northern Latitude: I understand that due to the location and time of year, there will be daylight for 20+ hours/day.

6. Accommodations: I understand that this trip will require sharing of common spaces and bedrooms with other people in our party, unless other arrangements have been approved.

7. Food: I understand that the variety of food available and the ability to meet special dietary preferences may be limited.

8. Travel Documents: I understand that I will be required to hold up-to-date travel documents, international medical insurance, and emergency evacuation insurance for the trip, at my own expense. The evacuation insurance should be sufficient to get me back to the hospital of my choice in the United States.

9. Teamwork: I understand that this is a group trip and that participants will look out for and support each other on the trail. Pace, daily start-end times, route and side trips will be driven by the needs of the group and conditions on the ground.

10. Leadership: I understand that safety and well-being of participants comes first and the itinerary and route may change without prior notice based on conditions. While participant input will be valued, the Mountaineers trip leader will be the ultimate decision maker.

11. Responsibility: I understand that the Mountaineers trip leaders are not guides and that I am responsible for knowing the route and where I am along the way at all times.

12. Fitness and Medical Conditions: I commit to providing a doctor’s certification of medical fitness if requested, and to disclose to the leader and outfitter in advance of the trip about any recent injuries, surgeries, allergies, medications or medical conditions that could impact me on the trip.

13. Behavior: I commit to behave during the trip in a careful and safe manner, to communicate to the leader promptly about any illness or injury, and to put my health and safety and that of my fellow group members first even if this means having to turn around or exit the trip early.

I understand that I am subject to the following Cancellation Policy for this adventure:

If you cancel from this adventure, you may receive a refund less non-recoverable expenses incurred, as follows.
• Cancellation made more than 65 days before starting the tour (up until June 22, 2024): All but 100€ is refundable
• Cancellation made 65-47 days before the start of the tour (June 23-July 11): 90% of the price is refundable
• Cancellation made 46-21 days before the commencement of the tour (July 12- Aug 5): 75% of the price is refundable
• Cancellation made 7-20 days before the commencement of the tour (Aug 6-Aug 19): 50% of the price is refundable
• Cancellation made 3-6 days before the commencement of the tour (Aug 20- Aug 24): 25% of the price is refundable
• Cancellation made less than 3 days before the start of the tour (After Aug 24): No amount is refundable.
In addition to these fees, there will also be a $100 administrative fee.

If you cancel more than 3 days before the start of the tour, you have the option of delaying your refund to see if your space is backfilled. If it is backfilled, you can be refunded the trip cost (less $100) after the participant has paid the registration fee. If the space is not backfilled, there will not be any refund.
