Library Director Self-Evaluation

Introduction

The role of a Library Director encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities that determine the library's success and its relationship with the community. This confidential self-evaluation is designed to empower you to introspect, acknowledge your strengths, pinpoint areas of improvement, and strategize for ongoing professional growth.

Participants may also elect to use the evaluation to facilitate a performance review discussion with their managing entity. This evaluation consists of 25 questions and is estimated to take 10 minutes.

Upon completion of the evaluation, you will receive a PDF of your evaluation via email. Once a sufficient population of responses has been received, all responses will be aggregated into a report so participant can compare their scores to the overall population.

Position that best reflects your self-assessment in each area.
1 = Below Expectations:   Performance falls short of the basic standards. Immediate attention and possibly additional training or support are required.
2 = Approaches Expectations:   Occasionally meets the standards of performance but lacks consistency. May require guidance or additional resources to achieve competency.
3 = Meets Expectations:   Achieves and maintains the expected standards of performance consistently. Displays competency and expertise in the role.
4 = Exceeds Expectations:   Demonstrates a high level of performance. Frequently surpasses set expectations and adds value.
5 = Outstanding:   Demonstrates an outstanding level of performance. Consistently goes above and beyond, contributing significantly more than expected.
N/A = Not Applicable:   This criterion does not apply to my role or circumstances, or there hasn't been an opportunity to demonstrate this aspect of performance.
