2024 Career Forge Application

Program Overview

Career Forge Description
Career Forge identifies exceptional people and empowers them with relevant skills needed to forge their path into the biotech industry. This program includes approximately 110 hours of in-person training and prepares Forgers for Research Assistant/Associate and QC Analyst roles.

  • 80 hours - in-person lab technical training and additional professional development coaching.
  • 30 hours - in-person workshops focused on critical workplace competencies.

Career Forge is FREE and meals are provided onsite. In addition, those who complete the program will receive a $1,200 stipend and job placement support during and/or after the program. 
Career Forge Requirements 

  • Be a first-generation student, woman, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color) or other underrepresented individual who hold or is in their final year of an associate or bachelor’s degree in science.
    • Please note: If you have or are pursuing a master’s degree, you are only eligible to participate in Career Forge if you have been facing prolonged challenges entering the biotech industry (i.e., unsuccessful job search after a year of graduating).
  • Be seeking full-time employment in a research associate or research assistant role.
  • Be 18+ years of age. 
  • Be able to show proof of ability to work in the U.S legally.
  • Have reliable transportation to training and employer sites.
  • Have access to a computer and WiFi connection (if not, please let us know so that we make alternative arrangements).
  • Be curious and enthusiastic.
  • Demonstrate grit.
  • Commit to participation in the program and attendance in all workshops. 

Career Forge Cohorts 2024

  • Spring: Monday, May 13, 2024 - Monday, June 3, 2024 (weekdays - most days start around 8:30am and end around 5pm) - Full
  • Summer: Monday, July 8, 2024 – Friday, July 26, 2024 (weekdays - most days start around 8:30am and end around 5pm) 
  • Fall: Monday, October 21, 2024 - Friday, November 8,  2024 (weekdays - most days start around 8:30am and end around 5pm)
