For Jewish Educators, Clergy and Engagement Professionals

Since the October 7 terror attacks, Israel and Hamas have been at war. Subsequently acts of antisemitism have increased significantly, both in volume and in their severity.  This momentous and historic event affects Jews worldwide in numerous ways. Jewish educators, clergy and engagement professionals in particular, are playing (and will continue to play) a critical role in helping their learners grapple with the fears and doubts that are arising from these painful events.

This questionnaire is designed as part of a collective effort for Jewish educators, clergy and engagement professionals to make meaning of this moment, in educational terms. We hope that answering it will help all of us clarify the educational questions at hand, and ultimately provide us with a roadmap forwards. We also believe that answering these questions will help you give words and order to some of the chaos you might be experiencing.

Please take approximately 3 to 5 minutes to share your thoughts. In the spirit of areivut (mutual care, compassion and support) everyone’s answers will be available (without attribution), so that you can see how others are making sense of this moment.

Additionally, we will be publishing a ‘snapshot’ of what is surfacing across the field on a periodic basis.  At the end of the survey you will be provided a link to view live report of the answers to this survey. You can also opt-in to receive the formal analysis we will produce.
