November 2023 Monthly Mission Shortcut

Complete the mission shortcut between November 6, 2023, and November 19, 2023, to be entered to win an AirFly Bluetooth Transmitter! 

Shortcut steps:

1. Download the SolarWinds free tool Plan Explorer. 
   NOTE: Use an incognito window or clear your cache/cookies if this link gives you any issues. 
    

2. Install Plan Explorer (directions here). Once installed, it should look like this.
   

3. Using the left-hand navigation, start a new session. Then, open a SQL Server query plan (directions here)
   Create a query plan, or use our sample plan file here. If using the sample plan file, double-click the file to open it in Plan Explorer.

4. In Plan Explorer, right-click on the graph and change "Costs By" to "CPU". It will look something like this, but your data will be different.
   

5. Change "Line Widths By" to "Data Size (MB)". It will look something like this but your data will be different.
   
    
6. Submit a screenshot of both steps 4 and 5.
