1/17/24: STI Minimization- Intentionally Inclusive Sex Ed with Courtney Brame 4:00-5:30 PM PST.
In this 90 minute workshop, we will explore herpes stigma from the perspective of those living with and directly impacted by it, while understanding how the communication skills of the individuals who make up this community directly can aid STD Prevention efforts as they exist. In this workshop, we will learn to offer a safer sex framework for people navigating all aspects of stigma in a way that will directly minimize new exposures to STIs.

2/21/24: Fat Positivity in Sex Ed with Tory Sparks RESCHEDULED FOR 3:30-5PM PST
For sex education to be comprehensive and inclusive, it must integrate fat-positive approaches. This workshop will provide a learning environment for educators to examine biases and work to undo them. This workshop will review approaches to body size diversity ranging from fatphobia to fat liberation. We will talk about fat discrimination and oppression and review best practices for integrating fat positivity into key areas of sex education.
 

4/17/24: An Introduction to a Social Justice Approach to Youth Engagement with the Hub for Justice-Centered Youth Engagement 4:00-5:30 PM PST.
Are you ready to deepen your youth engagement work? Are you eager to engage youth who are often silenced by/in our systems? During this session, participants will learn about social justice youth development, how to identify and address unequal distributions of power in youth-adult relationships and how to engage in practices that enhance authentic collaboration between youth and adults. Participants will be invited in dialogue to identify ways to integrate new knowledge into their own practice.


5/1/24: Autistic Focused Sex Ed with Dylan Kapit 4:00-5:30 PM PST.
This presentation will include an overview of autism and how it might present in a school or sex ed setting, information on why autistic focused sex education is necessary, suggested topics for autistic sex education, and how to discuss and teach sex education to autistic students. There will be tips, tricks, strategies and best practices for navigating autistic sex education, as well as information on how to get buy in from necessary stakeholders such as administrators and parents.
