Did you know? In 2021, outdoor recreation related business activities contributed $10,849,319,000 (That’s nearly $11 billion!) in total value to Michigan’s economy. This includes 109,595 jobs and nearly $5 billion in wages and compensation. Check here for more information on the impacts of the outdoor recreation industry in Michigan.

Networks Northwest is partnering with Fourth Economy Consulting on an Outdoor Recreation Business Inventory and Economic Impact Study for the 10 county northwest Michigan region, comprising Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford Counties.

Founded in 1974, Networks Northwest facilitates and manages various programs and services for the 10 counties of Northwest Michigan. Given its focus on talent, business, and community, Networks Northwest is interested in gathering information on outdoor recreation establishments and employment.

As part of an outdoor recreation business inventory, we are conducting a short survey of businesses in the outdoor recreation industry. The final results will be an inventory of outdoor recreation businesses that can be used by regional leaders to strategize business support and program development for the regional outdoor recreation sector.

Individual business information will not be shared without your permission.  Thank you in advance for participating in this important work!
