ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYNAPO Education's goal is to develop job-specific classes and provide a path of education for new and veteran Professional Organizers and Productivity Consultants. Annually, NAPO Education develops new courses and certificate programs to help our Professional members gain additional credibility within a growing industry, and to show their clients that they are dedicated to professional development.
We are seeking subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, pilot & deliver new content for the CPO Exam Prep Course. This course is designed to prepare Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) candidates for the CPO Exam.
Selected SMEs will work together in a collaborative approach with agreed upon roles and responsibilities, project plan, and final course design.
Required Project Deliverables:
- Final Course Blueprint
- Exam Prep Course PowerPoint slides with instructor script in Notes (to be recorded with audio video)
- Course handout of supplemental materials
- Sample Practice Exam with practice questions and answers
- Study Group Sessions Assignment PowerPoint Slides with instructor script in Notes (to be recorded with audio video)
- Materials inventory Sheet with Final Materials links
- Project evaluation
All created content and final deliverables are the intellectual property of NAPO.
Application Deadline: Monday, November 20, 2023 by 11:59pm (PST)QUALIFICATIONSTo be considered for the position, you must:
- Be a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO)
- Be a subject-matter expert (SME) in Professional Organizing
- Be a NAPO member with Professional status*
- Have at least 3 years of organizing and/or productivity experience.
- Be able to develop content collaboratively with a team of subject matter experts.
- Available to develop the class between January 2024 and April 2024. (Training beginning end of November 2023)
- Expected release date: May 2024
- Be responsible, a good communicator, and able to adhere to a timeline
- An effective presenter in a webinar format both with AND without a live audience
- Able to work well with others. You will be working with another SME, forming a team, and collaborating with the EAC advisory team for this project to collaboratively validate the design, develop the course content, pilot the course and study group experience, and record the instruction of the course and study group session assignments.
*Non-NAPO members with extensive experience in a related field will also be considered.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for the position, you must be a CPO and have demonstrated expertise in Professional Organizing. Examples of demonstrated expertise are as follows:
- Additional credentials (NAPO Certificates, PMP, CPO-CD)
- Delivered an educational session at a professional conference
- Published author (e.g. wrote a book, article, blog, chapter, etc.)
- Podcast speaker on a related topic
- Designed, developed, and delivered a webinar or course for NAPO.
- Ability to write learning objectives, apply adult learning principles
- Experienced with Microsoft Suite
- Ability to write knowledge-based assessment questions
- Lead projects in a working environment where all expected inputs may not be available.

COMPENSATIONNAPO Subject Matter Experts will each be paid a total of $3,000 for their content contributions throughout the process of certificate and course development. Payments will be broken up as follows:
- Initial up-front payment of $750
- Beta Deliverables payment of $1,500
- Final payment of $750 upon completion
