Thank you for participating in the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) National Medical Committee (NMC) application process. This information is for the confidential use of the NMC Membership Selection Subcommittee and PPFA Medical Services.

- Candidate Statement (200-500 words) Statements should include the following:
- Why the candidate is qualified for the NMC
- How the candidate will contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion on the NMC
- Specific expertise/skills/training the candidate possesses relevant to the NMC's work and needs
We are seeking candidates with a diversity of lived experiences, with a particular focus on historically underrepresented communities, which include, but are not limited to: race, color, religion, sex, national origin, prior incarceration, geographic location, ethnicity, age, educational background, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, disability, income, marital or immigration status or any other characteristic that are historically discriminated against, erased, or discounted. The goal is to diversify our membership base in order to achieve a strong diversity of thought and experience that will lead to innovative, patient-centered NMC decisions to improve equity for patients of all backgrounds and build power and platform for historically disenfranchised health care leaders.
The Membership Selection Subcommittee will review and evaluate each application against the recruitment priorities to determine final candidates. Selected members will begin their three year terms July 1, 2023. Please note that attendance at meetings is required of NMC members. This can include virtual meetings, workgroup or subcommittee meetings, and an in-person meeting every other year.
The deadline for nominations is January 7th, 2023 11:59pm PT.
