ARRO 2023 Call for Subcommittee Volunteers

The ARRO 2023-2024 Subcommittee Call for Volunteers is now open!

Use the form below to provide your contact information, provide a brief description of why you are qualified, and rank your choices for subcommittees. Residents can now be considered for up to two subcommittees.

Communications Subcommittee:

The Communications Subcommittee manages and develops ARRO’s social media resources and newsletters, works with the other subcommittees and organizations to disseminate information regarding resident and student resources and opportunities, and serves to educate residents and students about government and healthcare policies that affect radiation oncology. This subcommittee, with the help of others, plans the annual ARRO Day at the ASTRO Annual Meeting and also helps with resident involvement of ASTRO Advocacy Day.

Global Health Subcommittee:
The Global Health Subcommittee's goal is to help expand the resident's role in achieving more equitable health care for patients at home and abroad through outreach, education, and research. This committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss key global health topics in radiation oncology and invites speakers to help broaden our knowledge and understanding. We also help provide resources, networking, and mentorship to help further our residents' individual global health goals. Member responsibilities will include attending the monthly meetings, participation in the mutual mentorship program, sharing your personal global health work, and/or helping facilitate a speaker for a monthly meeting.

Education Subcommittee:
The mission of the Education Subcommittee is to develop new educational tools, disseminate educational resources, and advocate for concerns of residents relevant to educational training and specialty certification. Member responsibilities include active participation in one of the subcommittee subgroups and creation of two educational projects a year as an individual (ARROcase) or part of a larger subcommittee project.

Equity and Inclusion Subcommittee:

The Equity and Inclusion Subcommittee strives to foster a supportive environment for trainees who identify as under-represented groups in medicine and their allies. It also aims to foster dialogue on issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice within radiation oncology. This committee hosts monthly meetings to discuss key issues and to systematically assess, discuss and report trends in workforce diversity in order to generate impactful and sustained solutions.
