1/29/24 World Language Conference: Workshop Proposals

Call for Proposals open through December 22, 2023.

Dear colleagues,

Thank you for your interest in sharing your expertise and passion with our New York City teachers during our January 29, 2024 Virtual Conference for World Languages teachers across New York City.  Over the day, we will explore instructional resources and practices to help students progress in their linguistic and intercultural proficiency aligned to the 2021 New York State Standards for World Languages and guiding students at all levels to deep critical thinking. This is the first year of implementation for 7th grade teachers and teachers have requested resources and strategies that they can easily apply in their classrooms.

We will start with a morning keynote by Krishauna Hines-Gaither, PhD, author of the AntiRacist World Language Classroom.

We then aim to offer teachers a variety of interactive workshops aligned to practices exemplifying the new standards and allowing time for participant application of learning. We will offer workshops in three different sessions between 10 am and 1:30 pm. Below, please share information on your proposed workshop and how it connects to the theme of the conference.

This conference would not be possible without experienced and passionate presenters like you-- thank you!
