Welcome to the new and refreshed Scarborough Health Network - Allied Health Clinical Student and CI Pre-Placement Onboarding

There are no exceptions to the requirement of onboarding - even if you are active SHN staff, even if you were here on placement last term.
This app will take you through a series of mandatory Policy reviews, videos and modules that are required for you to begin your placement, and for access to Epic CIS to be granted. 

When you are finished and submit your profile, you will receive an automated email that contains a PDF copy of the information you input. What will you need to do with that?

You will need to PRINT the attached PDF that contains your email, phone number etc when you go to the Security office for your ID badge. 

Professional Practice provides oversight to this onboarding process, as such, their office also receives a copy of your submission for verification and compliance purposes. 
Allied Health student disciplines that are covered under this onboarding include: 
  • Anaesthesia Assistant
  • Addictions and Mental Health Graduate Certificate  Student
  • Child Life Specialist
  • Clinical Ethics
  • Diagnostic Imaging: all designations
  • Lab: Technologist and Technician
  • Massage Therapy
  • Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD) 
  • Nutrition: Registered Dietitian 
  • Pharmacy: Pharmacist, Technician
  • Physician Assistant
  • Recreational Therapy
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Rehabilitation Sciences: Kinesiology, OT, OTA, PT, PTA
  • Social Work (MSW only)
  • Registered Dietitian 
  • Speech and Language Pathologist (SLPs)
  • Spiritual and Religious Care Practitioner 
**Nursing, PSW and Paramedic students have a different pre-placement onboarding module; if you need access to this, exit this and contact the SHN placement office at s.clinstplacements@shn.ca**

SHN has made changes to the onboarding process to be: 
  • In compliance with physical distancing requirements due to COVID-19
  • Compliant for Regional access to our new clinical information system  - Epic CIS which has replaced Meditech for all aspects of patient care and documentation
  • All of the policies and modules contained within must now completed in full prior to your placement start-date
**This onboarding is required for each student and Clinical Group Instructor - each term you are at SHN - regardless if the terms are consecutive or if you are active SHN staff.**
