Scarborough Health Network: Allied Health Clinical Student Pre-Placement and CI Onboarding

Welcome to the Scarborough Health Network - Allied Health Clinical Student Pre-Placement Onboarding

There are no exceptions to the requirement to complete pre-placement onboarding - even if you are active SHN staff, and even if you were here on a previous placement.
The pre-placement onboarding will take you through a series of mandatory policy reviews, videos and modules that are required for you to begin your placement.

When you are finished and submit your profile, you will receive a confirmation email that contains a PDF copy of the information you input.

You will need to show the confirmation email and attached PDF if you go to the Security office for your ID badge. 

Professional Practice provides oversight to this onboarding process, as such, their office also receives a copy of your submission for verification and compliance purposes. 
Allied Health student disciplines that are covered under this onboarding include: 
  • Anaesthesia Assistant
  • Addictions and Mental Health Graduate Certificate  Student
  • Child Life Specialist
  • Clinical Ethics
  • Diagnostic Imaging: all designations
  • Lab: Technologist and Technician
  • Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD) 
  • Nutrition: Registered Dietitian 
  • Pharmacy: Pharmacist, Technician
  • Physician Assistant
  • Recreational Therapy
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Rehabilitation Sciences: Kinesiology, OT, OTA, PT, PTA
  • Social Work (MSW only)
  • Registered Dietitian 
  • Speech and Language Pathologist (SLPs)
  • Spiritual and Religious Care Practitioner 
**Nursing, Massage Therapy, PSW and Paramedic students complete a different pre-placement onboarding module; if you need access to this, exit now and contact the SHN placement office at s.clinstplacements@shn.ca**
