2023 Paddle Australia Annual Awards and Life Membership Nomination Form

Paddle Australia (PA) is the National Sports Organisation (NSO) responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of paddling in Australia. PA is recognised by the Federal Government and represents the interests of its members to government and the public. PA’s vision, contained in the Strategic Plan for Paddling in Australia, is for ‘A United Paddling Community’.

PA acknowledges that excellence and achievement can take many forms.  We are committed to recognising outstanding contributions to the paddling community through the Paddle Australia Annual Awards, which highlight our members’ achievements during the nomination period across a number of categories.  The Annual Awards also provide a platform to honour those who have contributed to our sport over a number of years.  The categories for the Annual Awards are described in the Paddle Australia Life Membership, Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Policy.

The Annual Awards are an opportunity for members of our paddling community to provide nominations for contributions deserving recognition over the period 16 September 2022 - 15 September 2023 (Please note, nominations resulting from the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships will be accepted despite falling slightly outside the window in accordance with the PA Life membership, annual awards and hall of fame policy. With this in mind, the due date for the Paddler of the Year - Olympic/ Paralympic and Coach of the Year awards will be accepted until the 29th of September). Individual Members are able to submit nominations for a number of the Paddle Australia Annual Awards, by simply completing the form below. Please note that if you are submitting more than one nomination, each nomination must be completed on a separate nomination form.

The Paddle Australia Honours and Awards Panel will meet to determine the shortlist and winner of each award in accordance with the HAP Terms of Reference

Nominations for the PA Annual Awards and Life Membership will close on the 15 September 2023. Nominations for Olympic/ Paralympic Paddler of the Year and Coach of the Year will be accepted until the 25 September to accommodate nominations made following results at the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships.

Unless otherwise specified, only financial members of Paddle Australia will be eligible to receive Awards.

Please note: Award recipients who have a disciplinary matter or debt with PA may not be considered. Any Honour or Award bestowed by Paddle Australia (PA) may be forfeited by failure of a recipient to observe any PA by-laws, policies, or constitutional requirements or for any action or behaviour which brings paddling or PA into disrepute, upon the PA Board passing a resolution to remove such Honour or Award.
