Summer Internship Application

The National Community Pharmacists Association and the NCPA Foundation are pleased to sponsor the NCPA Summer Internship Program. This program provides a pharmacy student with an excellent opportunity to experience life at a national association, while also learning more about the many opportunities that exist in independent community pharmacy practice. This 10-week program can be either virtual or at NCPA headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. The NCPA Foundation provides a stipend for the 10-week internship.

Applications for the NCPA Summer Internship Program must be received by December 31.

Qualifications:
(1) Enrolled in a full-time undergraduate pharmacy program in pursuit of a first professional pharmacy degree.
(2) A minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average at an accredited or candidate status domestic School or College of Pharmacy.
(3) A demonstrated interest in independent pharmacy practice, e.g. through school activities and work experience.
(4) Exhibit an interest in organizational involvement through participation in student organizations at college and/or in a community organization.
(5) Current NCPA Student Membership (join online or call 703-683-8200 for help with your member ID)

(1) One page letter of intent expressing your interest in the internship, your career goals, and how the internship will help you achieve these goals.
(2) One page letter of recommendation from a faculty member or dean at your pharmacy school.

(3) One page letter of recommendation from a current or recent employer or pharmacy mentor, preferably a pharmacy owner.
(4) Official or unofficial pharmacy school transcripts. Student interns must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
(5) A copy of your most recent resume or CV, denoting accomplishments with the NCPA student chapter, school and/or state.
