Project ACHIEVE is a non-profit health research organization in New York City. We are doing a research study to develop a health communication app called VaxCom. The purpose of this app is to improve recruitment of transgender women, and also of men who have sex with men, into HIV vaccine research studies. This will help us towards a goal of making sure that people have the information they need to feel comfortable participating in HIV vaccine studies and feel comfortable taking any potential HIV vaccines that become available in the future.

There are three phases to this study. In the current and final phase, participants will help test the VaxCom app that we developed based on previous feedback from study participants. The study involves a one-time visit where you will sit with a study recruiter who will use the VaxCom app to present information to you about HIV vaccine research studies. We will then interview you to ask your opinion about the app and the information you received from the study recruiter.

The study visit will be in person, last about 1 hour 30 minutes, and pay $50 for your time.

Click “Next page” to answer a few questions and see if you meet basic criteria.  If you are eligible and interested, you will be asked to provide information so we can contact you to ask a few more questions by phone and to possibly schedule an appointment for the study.
