GHRB Peer Reviewers - Call for Experts

About the Activity & the Call for Experts

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's Gulf Health and Resilience Board is seeking recommendations for peer reviewers to evaluate proposals and participate in virtual review panels for our 2023 funding opportunities.

Using these recommendations, National Academies staff will be looking to build diverse, virtual review panels throughout the summer of 2023. Reviewers will be selected based on research area need and will undergo a Conflicts of Interest screening. Each selected reviewer can expect to provide an in-depth assessment of about 5-6 proposals and participate in a 1.5 to 2.5-hour virtual review panel to discuss the proposals.

National Academies staff are looking for expertise particularly in the following areas:

  • health equity
  • health data infrastructure
  • climate-related mental health
  • nature-based solutions
  • climate education
  • youth leadership education
  • community engagement

We invite you to submit your suggestions by August 1, 2023.

The National Academies are committed to enhancing diversity and inclusion in order to strengthen the quality of our work. Diverse perspectives contribute to finding innovative approaches and solutions to challenging issues. We encourage the suggestion of experts who reflect the populations we serve and also welcome in particular suggestions of experts from underrepresented racial, ethnic, gender and sexual identity groups, people with disabilities, and early- and mid-career professionals.
