SY23-24 Literacy Offerings - Interest Form

The Office of Literacy and Humanities is pleased to offer the following resources, supports, and opportunities for SY23-24:
 
  • Dyslexia Institute: The Dyslexia Institute will support educators to meet the needs of students at risk of or diagnosed with dyslexia.
  • Strong Start - Early Literacy Screening: To support districts with adoption and implementation of an early literacy screening protocol, the Department will offer office hours as an opportunity to come with your specific questions. In addition, the Department will make screening resources such as slide decks with embedded trainings and mini webinars available for professional development. 
  • Massachusetts Literacy Planning Institute: Network participants will learn about and create an MTSS-aligned literacy plan for grades K-5 that includes instructional leadership responsibilities, literacy priorities and goals, instruction and intervention, assessment, and professional learning.
  • Mass Literacy - Online Overview Course: To advance Mass Literacy, DESE is pleased to offer an asynchronous, publicly available course that walks educators through the research and resources of the Mass Literacy Guide. Participants who complete the course will receive 15 PDPs. 
  • Adolescent Literacy Intervention Selection Tool (A-LIST): The A-LIST will be the first resource of its kind nationwide. Massachusetts educators are invited to join the panel of expert reviewers that will rate intervention programs for the A-LIST.
