What's next?

In the coming weeks, the Health Bucks Team will contact you to let you know if your organization’s application has been approved and to schedule a meeting to pick up Health Bucks starting in July.
When organizations pick up Health Bucks, the Health Bucks Team will discuss best practices for coupon distribution and tracking and provide farmers market maps and palm cards to distribute with the Health Bucks. Nutrition Education materials are available on the Nutrition Education Programs and Resources webpage.
The Health Bucks Team is available by email and phone to answer questions and support your organization’s Health Bucks distribution.

As a reminder, New Yorkers who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can receive Health Bucks at NYC farmers markets year-round. For every $2 spent in SNAP benefits at NYC farmers markets, shoppers get $2 in Health Bucks up to $10 per day. Text “So Good” to 55676 and find a nearby farmers market (or “Muy Rico” for Spanish) or visit NYC Health Map.

New Yorkers participating in SNAP can also get discounted fruits and vegetables through our supermarket-based program, Get the Good Stuff. At participating supermarkets, for every $1 spent in SNAP benefits on purchases of eligible fruits, vegetables and beans, shoppers can get $1 (up to $10 per day) to buy more eligible foods. Additional resources to support food access and healthy eating are available on our Nutrition Services webpage. Individuals can call 718-557-1399 or visit access.nyc.gov to apply for SNAP and other programs that can help with food, money, housing and work. For urgent food needs, New Yorkers can call 311 and ask for the Emergency Food Assistance Program or visit foodhelp.nyc.gov to find a nearby food pantry.
