Many small, underfunded institutions of higher education in the United States need, but do not have, fully functioning oversight programs. Many of these institutions serve primarily minority populations with educational disparities, such as Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). Others are health institutions serving minority populations with significant health disparities, such as community clinics, regional or area Indian Health Boards, and tribal governments. Almost all such institutions have significantly fewer resources than their larger peer institutions, and many of these institutions are being asked to take on greater roles in research by participating in studies and/or initiating their own research activities.
We will be funding four teams in 2023. Each recipient receives:
- Complimentary registration to PRIMR23 OR the PRIMR23/SBER23 Virtual Meeting plus registration to SBER23 or one Workshop on December 3 (for in-person attendees only)
- A one-year PRIM&R membership
- If attending the conference in-person: roundtrip economy travel to Washington, DC, and hotel accommodations.
