We value your feedback! Governor Hochul's 2023 State of the State plan and Fiscal Year 2024 Executive Budget include historic proposals and resources that will allow the Office of Mental Health (OMH) to transform the State's mental healthcare system. The purpose of this community engagement feedback survey is to collect your feedback to help OMH determine how to best implement new programming and use new resources to increase access to mental health services, eliminate service gaps and promote equity in access for all New Yorkers.

Your feedback will be compiled and analyzed, with the goal of incorporating it into OMH planning activities. Each item is optional so feel free to answer the items that are most important to you.

2. We want to make the changes we outlined in the State of the State and Executive Budget in ways that are impactful for all communities. As we design these changes, we are interested in hearing about your community, specifically.

What do you think will be most impactful- positive or negative- with regard to the new services and policies we presented to you today?

3. If your community had new Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams or Critical Time Intervention (CTI) teams, for adults and/or children, what would you want to see them used for?

4. Is there a gap in housing services in your community? If yes, then what ideas do you have for addressing those gaps as we plan and implement the new services? If no, disregard and skip to the next question.

5. What do you think would be most helpful to support the mental health of children in schools?

6. As we consider the planned changes you heard about in today's presentation, what, if anything, is not working in your community that may cause a challenge to implement the new changes? And what would you suggest for addressing that?

7. What should the process look like for individuals or families seeking mental health services, so the process is more timely and customer-oriented?

8. What could the mental health care system do to help address disparities in access to services and quality of services? For example, be more actively engaging for people from different backgrounds?

9. Are there ways people in your community feel they can give feedback about the mental health system and be heard?

10. How do you think hospital inpatient, emergency rooms and Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Programs (CPEPs, ERs) could do better to meet community needs?

11. OMH has many programs and initiatives to help people find and keep work, like Individual Placement and Support (IPS), and values employment as a primary outcome.

What is the biggest challenge to finding and keeping work for people with mental illness?

12. Do you feel like the mental health system helps people achieve employment goals?

13. How do you think the mental health system could do a better job of helping people find and keep employment?
