Mass Casualty Drill Player Volunteer 2023

Volunteer Information and Questions

Player volunteers may be assigned the roles of disaster victims, disaster perpetrators, media, by standers, other students/teachers, family members, security, nurses, etc. No specific role is guaranteed.  

Please review the following regarding the disaster drill and answer the questions that follow: 

This disaster drill may contain real fire, smoke, loud noises such as simulated explosions or simulated gunfire, screaming/crying, sirens, flashing lights, or darkness. It may contain simulated injuries that include burns, penetrating injuries, crush injuries, etc. It will contain fake blood and simulated death. It may include being outside for long periods of time. It may require the need for running, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting items less than 35 pounds, lying very still or hiding. There will be police officers, fire fighters, and other possible healthcare professionals and first responders on scene. This event will be filmed by multiple organizations. 

1. Are you physically capable, mentally prepared, and comfortable with being placed in that kind of disaster situation? If the answer is no, do not submit this survey. Please consider volunteering as an assistant volunteer. *This question is required.
2. Are you physically capable, mentally prepared, and comfortable with being placed outside, mostly shaded, with loud noises and smoke/possible fire for long periods of time?  *This question is required.
3. Are you mentally prepared and comfortable with loud noises? *This question is required.
4. Are you physically capable and comfortable with running?   *This question is required.
5. Are you physically capable and mentally prepared with small spaces or hiding?   *This question is required.
6. Are you physically capable of bending, stooping, and/or squatting?  *This question is required.
7. Are you physically capable and comfortable with lying very still for long periods of time?   *This question is required.
9. Do you have 2 sets of clothing that can be torn, cut, stained, or destroyed that you can bring with you on the day of the disaster drill?  *This question is required.
10. This disaster drill may require some victims to expose their abdomen and chest. This disaster drill will require medical participants and first responders to lift, move, touch, and in some cases, undress victims from the abdomen up.   *This question is required.
Are you physically and mentally comfortable with participants touching, lifting, moving, or possibly undressing you? If the answer is no, do not submit this survey. Please consider volunteering as an assistant volunteer. *This question is required.
If you have an anatomical male chest, are you comfortable with being exposed from your abdomen up? *This question is required.
If you have an anatomical female chest, are you comfortable with being exposed from your abdomen up with a sports bra on?   *This question is required.
11. The disaster drill will be ran two times on April 1, 2023 with a break. The assigned start times for victims will begin at 5 am. The disaster drill will approximately end around 5 pm. 
  1. Are you able to arrive at 5 am?

  1. Have you participated in a moulage, disaster drill experience before as a victim?
