2023 Employer Relations Summit Call for Programs

Deadline: March 31st , 2023

Official Call for Programs | Employer Relations Summit

The Southern Association of Colleges and Employers is hosting our 9th annual Employer Relations Summit in person on June 14- 16, 2023.

The Program Committee is looking for session proposals on current critical topics relevant to employer relations. Our mission is to craft a program that addresses topics pertinent to the needs of career services professionals and campus recruiters specializing in employer relations and university recruiting, respectively. Remember, a breakout session proposal does not need to be a formal, all encompassing capture of your end result.  Tell us your ideas, and you'll have time to fine tune the details later on!

What you need to submit:
  • Session Title
  • Session description or outline (200 word max)
  • Learning Objective (at least 1)

SESSION FORMAT
These 1 hour sessions should offer an in-depth exploration of the chosen topic and provide participants with relevant, tangible takeaways. Breakout sessions may include a presentation, activity, and/or group discussions. Breakout sessions will take place on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

TOPIC SUGGESTIONS
Topics should address the needs of employer relations and/or recruiting professionals. Preference will be given to programs in the areas of best practices, DEI initiatives, utilizing technology and data analytics, event planning, and student, faculty, parent and alumni partnerships. Joint presentations are highly encouraged between employers and career service professionals or representatives from multiple schools. The following topic ideas are welcome:

  • Best Practices: Highlighting employer development strategies and/or unique programming in employer relations and talent development. What efforts have been successful in increasing equity and access to opportunities, closing internship/pay gaps, or increasing student engagement in employer-related initiatives?
  • Trends:  Campus recruiting & posting policies, CRMs, recruiting Gen Z, skills based hiring, and overall employer offerings to support recruiting needs
  • Utilizing technology and data analytics: How do you use technology and data to tell your story to campus, faculty, and employer partners? Include strategy, software/technology used and impact on employer relations goals. *We are not seeking a demo of the software you use, per se. Rather, we'd like to hear how you are using technology to create innovative solutions and how others can translate your successful models to meet their needs
  • Student, faculty, and alumni partnerships: How do you engage students, faculty, and alumni in employer relations?  Peer advisor and ambassador programs, alumni networking events, faculty advisory boards, corporate sponsorships, and/or student groups
  • Employer - institution partnerships:  In what innovative ways has your office or campus partnered with employers in the areas of programming, training/education, talent pipeline development, or DEI initiatives?  Joint presentations between talent development and employer relations professionals are encouraged.

We very much look forward to receiving your breakout session proposals, and we thank you in advance for having the interest and taking the time to submit your program!
