The City of Roanoke has engaged the services of a consulting team to develop a Master Plan for the Evans Spring Property. However, it is essential to hear the voices of those most impacted, especially those in nearby neighborhoods. The owners of the property wish to explore options for eventual development; however, the ultimate goal is to envision what a WIN LOOKS LIKE FOR EVERYONE.
The Evans Spring Planning Area is approximately 150 acres of land along the southern side of Interstate 581 in the Evans Spring neighborhood. The Melrose-Rubgy and Fairland neighborhoods, which border the property to the south and west, and the Villa Heights neighborhood, which is northwest of the property, are primarily African American. The Evans Spring area is the largest assemblies of developable vacant land left in Roanoke. The site is situated directly across from the Valley View mall and is bordered by Interstate 581. The site consists of 6 parcels, including an existing subdivision.
Again, It is important that the people most impacted by those outcomes have a voice, so please share some information with us (we are not asking for your name).
11. If you had three wishes, what would you most want to see in the Evans Spring development? *This question is required.
