To comply with its contractual obligations of the Forest Legacy Program grant, the Arch Cape Water Board has approved a Multi-Resource Management Plan for the Watershed that, among other things, must define how public access and logging will be managed in the Watershed. The Management Plan is now posted for public comments. (see link below)
This purpose of this 15 question community survey is to capture the preference and comments of Arch Cape Water District rate payers and lot owners on that Management Plan for the Watershed, in regards to:
1) The areas of the Watershed where public access and recreation can take place - the entire Watershed or only OUTSIDE of the Source Water Protection Area.
2) The recreational activities that will be allowed in that area.
3) The financial plan, with or without logging, for operating the Watershed in accordance with this Management Plan.
4) Specific comments respondents want to have forwarded to the Board regarding this Management Plan.
Arch Cape Water District Rate Payer (those with a water hook-up) or Property Owners (those without a water hookup)
can submit up to 2 surveys per household.
The Survey will ask your name and property address -
ONLY to make sure that only eligible community members are completing the survey. No names or addresses will be published with the survey results, unless you specifically ask for your name to be associated with a comment. Personal information will not be stored or used for anything beyond compiling the survey.
Please complete this survey before
JANUARY 4, so that survey results and comments and be compiled and prepared for submission to the Board as Public Comments. The Board's deadline for receiving public comments in January 11.
Everyone is encouraged to complete the survey so that it is most representative of the preferences of the owners of the Watershed. Public Comments will be drafted that reflect these responses.
A Possibility: At some point in the survey, you may want to pause and leave the survey to reflect on the information before answering some questions. Thoughtfulness is just perfect.
