Family Engagement Professional Development Opportunities 2023

The MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) The Family Engagement project, will be hosting a series of networking and professional development opportunities for Family Engagement Specialist, ELPACs, SEPAC leaders, and administrators during the 2023 school year. The theme for this year’s series will be Building Authentic and Effective Relationships with all Families. The 2023-2024 series will be virtual (unless otherwise noted) and will commence with a statewide kick-off event and be followed by webinars, networking sessions, book discussion groups, and a culminating statewide family engagement summit.

Three Part Series on Supporting the Mental Health of Children and Families: 
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to engage with Dr. Nicole Christian Brathwaite in discussions around how to support diverse families who face mental health difficulties and/or have experienced trauma, including racial trauma 
    Family engagement coordinators and educators will learn strategies for how they can, together with families, create safe spaces at home, in school and in the community where children, youth and family members can strengthen their social and emotional well-being *This question is required.
