The New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC) is partnering with a research organization called Education Northwest to build a plan that will provide educators and students in New Jersey with support and resources to teach about Indigenous history and contemporary life. The project will offer Native-led opportunities for educators to learn how to utilize resources in the classroom across grades and subject matters.
As a part of this project, we are distributing surveys to educators, caregivers, and community partners across the state to better understand their needs, priorities, and concerns related to Indigenous education efforts in New Jersey. Your input will be helpful in capturing an accurate picture of the needs and hopes for Indigenous education.
The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete. We will keep anything you tell us confidential. Your name will not be put on any reports written about this project nor will any at New Jersey Historical Commission know your responses to the survey. The research team at Education Northwest will not distribute any data collected from you or use it in other future studies. All data will be stored in a secure folder on our server at Education Northwest. All collected information will be destroyed at the conclusion of our work.
Your participation is completely voluntary. You may choose not to participate, and you can stop participating in the survey at any time with no consequences. There are no anticipated risks to participating and no anticipated personal benefit. Collected data will only be used to inform the strategic plan.
